Welcome to Newfield.

The following information is aimed at giving you an insight into the life and work of Newfield School. It is hoped that it will provide initial answers to some of the questions that you may wish to ask and will guide you to further sources of information you may need.

The web site is in a number of sections covering most aspects of school life and should give you a flavour of what is available at the school. If you require any further information or would like an informal talk or visit, please feel free to contact the school. You are very welcome to come and meet the pupils and staff at work.

Newfield School is a multi-faith school maintained by Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council that provides high quality specialist education for children and young people aged 2 - 19 years. We pride ourselves in meeting the needs of our pupils and students who have a wide range of learning needs, including autism, complex medical needs and sensory impairments. We achieve this in partnership with families and carers, providing advice and support, as we feel this is imperative.

We promote a multi-disciplinary approach to the pupils’ education and care that includes a full-time health care team - physiotherapists, occupational therapists and speech and language therapists supporting, and working collaboratively with, a highly qualified and dedicated staff. We also liaise extensively with outside agencies to ensure all aspects of well-being for our children and young people’s lives are met.
