Cygnet Parent Workshops

- In Category: Parents

Today was the final session of the Cygnet parents course, run by ARC teacher Katrina Heywood. The course has been running every Monday morning for the past 6 weeks and helps support parents of children with autism. We have covered what autism is, how to help support communication and sensory issues, as well as looking at behaviour management strategies. The course has been a great opportunity for parents to meet other parents in similar situations and share their experience in a supportive and understanding group. Everyone has had the opportunity to contribute and in the final session the parents have chosen areas they wanted more information about such as PECS, intensive interaction and limited diets.

If you are interested in attending the cygnet course we currently have a waiting list so please feel free to contact Katrina or Nick at school to be added to the list.
