RRSA Steering Group Meeting

Today we held our RRSA steering group meeting and we were really busy! We counted, paired up and weighed all the shoes which we are collecting for the shoe share which Clarks is running alongside UNICEF. The ‘School in a box’ appeal will help children all over the world have a chance to go to school just like we do at Newfield - thanks to our old shoes. We had over 105 pairs weighing 40kg - we will be taking them down to the Clarks shop soon. We also made posters to advertise our tombola stall at the Christmas Fair on Friday. Our stall is raising awareness and raising money for UNICEF to support the children in Syria. finally, we also made little card houses which people will hopefully buy to donate to the Blackburn Nightsafe which is a charity that helps people who may be homeless. We are asking staff to write a Christmas message on the little house instead of sending Christmas cards to each other, and make a donation to help local homeless people. So, while we are looking forward to enjoying Christmas, we are making sure we think of others - and keep working hard, as you can see in the photo!
