Multi-Sensory Christmas Event

Today and tomorrow pupils are enjoying special sensory Christmas experiences in both of our 4D studios - in main school and the school for autism.

We have brought all the sights, sounds, smells and tastes of Christmas together in an explosion for the senses! The children have been entering a winter wonderland - with beautiful snow scenes - in the school for autism studio you can watch the snow pile up in your hand on the wall! We are using all of our senses to experience Christmas and are taking turns to attend - so far today four classes have thoroughly enjoyed it.

The children have been able to use switches to turn on their own Christmas tree lights and activate silly Christmas toys - Santas, snowmen etc. They have been guessing the smell - with trays of cinnamon, ginger, and cloves; and they have finished off the whole experience with a lively sing-along of Christmas songs and carols, complete with hats and scarves! Each child has taken away with them a chocolate tree decoration for home that they can taste later - what a lovely start to December. Merry Christmas!
