New Year RRSA Meeting 2019

This afternoon the RRSA Steering Group met for the first time in 2019 and we were very pleased to welcome a couple of guests to learn about how we work with UNICEF to promote Children’s Rights in school.

Former BwD head teacher Shazia joined us, along with one of student teachers from the University of Cumbria, Olivia.

We talked about what events we had held since our last meeting - there were lots of them including fundraising, sleepovers and outreach links.

We also showed our first draft of a film we are making about how Newfield works to meet Children’s Rights - we loved seeing ourselves on film, and we came up with a few ideas to make it even better. Some pupils even filmed some bits in the meeting!

We will be sharing the film on our website and with our link schools and residential homes soon - so watch this space for our premiere!
