Social Worker Farewell!

Newfield works closely with our colleagues from social care, and over the last 15 years we have worked very closely with Michele Chatburn, who is a social worker who has worked on a number of teams, including the Children with Disabilities team and the Children in Our Care team. Today, Michele came in to carry out the termly PEP (Personal Education Plan) meetings for our Looked After Children with class teachers and deputy Jenny Riley - for the very last time!

Michele is leaving children’s services to go and work in the adults’ social care team with adults needing support to live in their own homes.

Michele has worked tirelessly for children, in Newfield and many other schools, to make sure they are safe, well cared for and happy.

We held the meetings with parents and carers, who were also very sad to see Michele leave.

She received gifts and cards - some of the children had made her a lovely card which she received from a pupil - during a quick but special lunch with staff who have worked particularly closely with her, to say thank you from us all at Newfield.

We will really miss her expertise and support - but wish her the best of luck in her new role!
