What's New After Newfield? - Transition Event

This afternoon we held a meeting for parents of pupils from Y9 - Y14 all about transition.

We recognise that transition can be a very daunting experience and needs careful planning to ensure that it is successful.

At Newfield we want to make sure that parents/guardians are equipped with as much information as possible and are fully involved in decision making.

It was fantastic to have lots of post 19 providers here in school to talk to our parents and pupils.

Providers gave short presentations about their services and then pupils and parents had time to mingle and ask questions.

We had exhibitors from New Directions, Purple Patch, Big Blue Door, Olive tree, Adam’s Activity Ark, Blackburn College, Sporting NRG, Stanley Grange, The Base, Future Directions, Children’s Social care, Adult’s Social Care and Travel Assist.

Our oldest pupils enjoyed the event and also served refreshments to all of the visitors.

The feedback from everyone involved was extremely positive and we will certainly be making this an annual event.
