RRSA - First Meeting 2020-21

This afternoon we held our first Steering Group meeting for 2020-21 for the Rights Respecting School Award. We were very pleased to have a number fo staff and children in school, some staff and children on MS Team, members of staff, the nursing team and former pupil Adam, all also joining virtually on MS Teams - so it was a new way of meeting, but… ‘where there’s a will, there’s a way’ - as they say!

We introduced ourselves, went through what the point of the RRSA is, and discussed a range of issues.

Pupils were able to remember lots of their rights, and we made some posters to illustrate that although we are in strange times because of COVID, we have been able to return to school and take part in activities that demonstrate Newfield’s commitment to protecting and promoting children’s rights - the right to education, the right to medical support, the right to healthy food and the right to play and be with our friends.

HLTA Linsey is going to work with pupils to make a video to help new staff and pupils understand what the RRSA Steering Group does and how we are ambassadors for UNICEF - exciting stuff!

Everyone was pleased to get their badges - always a highlight - ket’s try not to lose them!
