RRSA Meeting 2022

This afternoon we held our first RRSA meeting of this school year to discuss what our rights are as young people.

We had some pupils and staff who have been on our steering group for a while, as well as some new member, so we had lots to talk about to explain what we do on behalf of UNICEF to give all children a voice and make sure their rights are respected - we also let them all know that we are a Gold level school - the highest award possible!

We started by thinking about ‘Wants & Needs’ and had to decide what is different between what we want and need, and then decide what things we wanted (chocolate!) and needed (fresh air!”)

We had great fun discussing this - sometimes not always agreeing.

We looked at ideas about what we can do to support our link orphanage school in Kenya - one of our pupils offered to knit things to raise money!

Anna, one of our teachers, came to explain how we can become a ECO School. Some of our pupils are interested in helping with this, as they believe helping our environment is very important - so watch this space!

We got our all important badges and after a busy meeting, we enjoyed our refreshments - we are looking forward to lots of meetings and adventures again this year.
