European Day of Language 2022

European Day of Language 2022 took place on 26th September, but we joined in today celebrating Newfield’s Languages Day which was back with a bang this morning!

It has been a while since we have been able to invite parents into school to enjoy some time sharing and exploring the children’s hard work but we were delighted to be able to do this and welcome so many parents in today.

We had lots on offer in our World Market this morning as we themed it around continents this year.

From Asia to Africa, Oceania to Europe and then on to the Amazing Americas, we have been able to travel the world through the amazing art and sensory experiences offered up by the children and their staff. There was lots to see, smell, touch and taste and we had examples of culture, artefacts and music.

This afternoon we will rounded up our day with our World-Vision Showcase.

Some of the classes shared performances styled around their chosen continents, which included a didgeridoo demonstration, some spoken French, some tribal costumes, dances and to round it all up - the famous Haka!

Thanks to Emma Taylor for coordinating and to everyone for all the hard work that goes into creating such a special event a lovely atmosphere, celebrating diversity, languages and cultures from around the world!
