RRSA Steering Group Meeting

Today we held our half termly Rights Respecting School Award steering group meeting.

We talked about anti bullying week which begins next week and ends on Friday 18th November with Children in Need day.

We discussed what people would feel like who are being bullied and what we need to do to be a good friend. We also agreed how we don’t witness bullying at Newfield and we are very happy about that.

We planned for Remembrance Day and talked about why we celebrate it. We designed pictures and art work for our Remembrance Day assembly on Friday.

Finally we talked about Children’s Takeover Day - which we actually celebrate for a whole week!

We join in this important event from the Children’s Commissioner, to support young people gain confidence in all areas of their surroundings and to empower them to have their voice heard by choosing something they want to experience and explore different aspects of Newfield life.

Children take over adult roles which also encourages them with their independence skills and having the confidence to believe that they can achieve the things they want to - it’s a very exciting week and we are looking forward to it!
