Friends

We have lots of friends here at Newfield and some of our children having been having a fantastic time in the nice weather with their friends both in and out of school.

We have begun a link with St Antony’s RC Primary, just down the road from us, and on Monday this was very successful when N joined in with a year 1 class.

At the start of the session he was very quiet and reserved but given half an hour he was in full swing – making friends with Arlo the Frenchie (dog), climbing up on the play apparatus, playing in the role play ice cream shop, enjoying snack time with the class and then playing chase in the playground with all of the boys and girls.

He had two ‘buddies’ with him from the class who looked out for him and made him feel very welcome. He was using his voice to communicate and his physical skills to join in with all of the activities.

He will very much look forward to his next visit when he will again go along with EHCA Tuesday helping him.

Class 2 enjoyed being with their friends in class, when they had an outdoor picnic in the large field to end their theme ‘a perfect picnic’.

They made sandwiches and packed our own picnics in class and then they took them outside to enjoy in the sunshine.

They then played with bubbles and had parachute and beach ball fun.

Our Dad’s and Lad’s group got together again today and had a great time - Conversations got animated around cups of tea and biscuits… The camaraderie was palpable and it was nice to see the lads getting together for another great meeting! Thanks Guys! We hope to see you all again soon!

Finally, in our main picture we have a fantastic photo of 2 older girls, who have been friends for a long time - J went to visit S in her class and what a lovely surprise it was - you can see from their faces that they were delighted to be with each other!

It’s good to have friends!
