Children's Mental Health Week - Wellbeing Wednesday

We’ve had a great day today, with lots of fun and interesting learning going on under our theme of ‘My Voice Matters’ - we started with a wellbeing breakfast for staff, then a friendship cafe for children at break time.

The children in S2 simply loved a good chat discussing best friends, proud moments and things that make us smile. The staff paired themselves off to speak 1-1 with the students and tried to give our full attention with no interruptions. It was amazing how many smiles and how much eye contact they got - they then created posters noting their ‘best bits’.

For well-being week and valentines celebrations S2 then made chocolate rice crispy cakes and gave them to the nurses to show them some loving for all the hard work they do - they had a really fun time feeling, squishing and pouring the rice crispies first!

Children in E2 merged another celebration - Lunar New Year which takes place this Saturday, with wellbeing, when they enjoyed a lesson about Chinese New Year today, They had a multi-sensory experience with Chinese food, role play, lanterns and drums, amongst other Chinese related resources. They then danced down the corridor to a song EHCA Carol had taught us all about China - Kung Hey Fat Choi!
