Takeover Week - part 3

We have had an amazing week, with older students taking over adult roles all over school. They have all worked so hard and really enjoyed having responsibilities, making choices and using their communication and physical skills to get lots of jobs done!

We had Z who has taken over from Mathilde’s role as Family Wellbeing Coordinator. Z has sent emails to various staff and turned out to be a megastar on the keyboard! He discussed updated health care plans with nurses and delivered letters to classes. Mathilde says that he has amazing interpersonal skills and is an asset to Newfield School. He also loved posing by the cars - Great Work Mr Z.!

We also had F who took her working with the nursing team, helping Chloe to support staff and she had a really good laugh working with them all.

M loved shadowing Lynx and getting the halls and the studio up and running ready for other learners.

Finally we had the boys from TG4 working with Galina, putting away deliveries; setting up the hall for lunch and even helping out with preparing food in the kitchen.

What a fabulous group of young people we have in school and how wonderful has this week been showcasing the skills that they are developing to prepare them for the future.

Thanks to the great young people and to all of the staff supporting this initiative this week - it’s been amazing.
