A Busy Week Learning!

We have had another fantastic week all over school and in the local community, doing lots of different activities to develop our skills, independence and having loads of fun!

We had the LKS2 Semi Fomal classes WOW event this week, where we had two pods set up in the hall and studio to represent a sensory experience of Winter and Spring. These link to our new English texts from the Percy the Park keeper series, One Snowy Night and One Springy Day.

The children explored winter clothing, a hot chocolate making station, a snowball fight, ice tray and the lovely smell and breeze from the spring day.

The Explorers wanted to share some fantastic building from this week, where they have been working on constructing more formal structures with lots of modelling and S has built this masterpiece completely independently - This has earned him star of the week!

In post 16, their ASDAN this term is looking after the environment, so TG3 have been to Greensleeves allotment to help tidy the grounds and it looks like they are loving the outdoors.

Teacher Tracy, who is a QTVI runs the VI sessions every Wednesday and this half term, they are themed all about Space - it looks like a wonderful experience.

And finally, in our Secondary age phase, S5 are settling into the new term and everyone is happy to be back at school, starting their new ‘Farm to Fork’ topic.

They have been exploring vegetables from their new story and used carrots and peas to do some mark making. They have also enjoyed a relaxing yoga session and practiced our stretches and balances.

What a lot of lovely experiences and learning across the school… and beyond!
