Thursday was the Celebration of Achievement assembly for Middle school, and what a special morning it was.
The annual assembly celebrates the ‘Special Mentions’, and ‘Progress and Achievement’ that our young people have made in across the year, and this year was as wonderful as ever.
Progress can take many forms for the pupils at Newfield and is often very individual to the needs and abilities of the child, taking time to share and celebrate these is always an important event in the school calendar.
The assembly was held by head teacher Rachel Kay, and Assistant Headteacher and department lead Sarah Chester, however the limelight was absolutely stolen by a young man in the department who turned out to be a brilliant compere and had the audience thoroughly engaged throughout!
The special guest who presented the awards was Rabia Shahzad who has been a parent governor for the school.
Her speech was very moving, acknowledging and sharing her pride in the school community, telling us about her journey as a parent, and highlighting the commitment, care, patience and professionalism that she has seen and experienced as a Governor and also as a parent. Her message of hope at the end of her speech was beautiful and ended the assembly so well.
Thank you to the parents who attended and celebrated with us, and above all well done to our children who are so deserving of their awards.
