Upper School Celebration of Achievement 2026

This morning we were delighted to invite families to join us for our Celebration of Achievement Assembly for our oldest learners.

We had special guest, Eleanor Wood – Partner Architect at Wilson and Mason LPP, who has worked on our fantastic new build which will open from September, who joined us to give out awards.

We began with a rousing performance from our brilliant KS5 students, who along with Richard Broomshead from Bolton Music service (who has been working with them all year) played a number of musical pieces on their p-buzz trumpets, Funky Rhythms and Golden - from K-Pop Demon hunters! They were fantastic.

We then gave out awards for Progress and Achievement, Special Mentions and a Whole School Courage Award.

One of our class of 2026 read a lovely letter he has written about his time at Newfield, and thanking all the staff - many of them by name! - and he then sang a beautiful rendition of ‘You’ll Be In My Heart’ by Phil Collins, from Disney’s Tarzan, which was very moving and showcased his talent.

The students were all amazing, the families were delighted to see their young people celebrated for their achievements and in her speech, Eleanor said what a privilege it had been to design and be involved of the building for such special learners.

Rachel headteacher, and Chris assistant head, closed the ceremony by thanking everyone for their commitment and support, and praised all of the students for their determination and hard work.

The building is just bricks and mortar (and some other bits), what makes Newfield so very special is all of the people - children, staff and families.
