Great Ormand Street Hospital - Race for the Kids

Today we held our GOSH ‘Race for the Kids fundraiser - the race day was fun! We had to cover at least 5 kilometres collectively as a whole school.

We used score sheets to calculate our total.

We MOVEed in different ways to cover distances around the school - some of us danced, rolled, walked, ran and swam through the various parameters.

We smashed our 5K target and together we did over 78 kilometres!

Everyone did an amazing job, but we have a couple of class winners who got prizes: Class to cover the furthest distance was - Turtle, with a staggering 24,500 meters, that’s over 24K covered throughout the day.

Most creative class award goes to - Starfish. Totalling 5,200m, over 5K. Starfish children have a very wide array of physical abilities, and they managed to complete many of the different parameters all over the school grounds.

We raised a huge amount of money for GOSH - a huge £450 - and you can still donate here.

Our families got involved to, as well as donating to the charity, one of our family members and pupils did a 2-mile walk - so, we must add another 3,220m to the total distance - taking us up to 81.520m - over 81km… Or if you’re old that means 50.6 miles travelled - absolutely staggering - well done!

Special thanks go to our physical development HLTAs - Aimie, Rachael and Emma - for organising such a fun and worthy event.
