About Chris Carter.

Chris is the Assistant Head for the Primary age phase of Newfield.

Working alongside Vicki, Chris leads and manages the department, supporting colleagues and developing learning opportunities.

Chris has trained in mainstream primary and has since qualifying worked in special schools in a range of local authorities. He has also worked in intensive support centres within schools, using nurture group principles with children with challenging social and emotional needs, working towards their reintegration into the wider school community.

Chris has a whole school responsibility for supporting pupils and staff to understanding and develop positive behaviour strategies and build positive relationships. Chris is a qualified Team Teach Tutor and Thrive Practitioner.

Chris has an interest in outdoor learning and has been a Duke of Edinburgh Awards scheme assessor for the last 3 years.
He also plays tuba in a brass band!

Newfield School is committed to safeguarding and protecting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults as its number one priority.

Full copies of Policies and Procedures related to all aspects of Safeguarding, and the Complaints Policy, are available on request from Rachel Kay, Head Teacher and Designated Senior Lead for Safeguarding and Child Protection.
